Erin Beeman CranioSacral & Massage Therapy

...because every body tells a story....

Serving the community through breakthrough bodywork, grounded flexibility, mindful movement, and dynamic awareness.

I take some time in the beginning of our session to listen to what has been going on for you, then I tailor a massage to address your concerns, restore the tissues and rebalance the mind-body connection. Sessions can be energizing, relaxing, restorative, soothing, neutral or a combination of effects. Most of my massage sessions include stretching of the limbs to restore joint function, increase range-of-motion and prevent injury. We use the breath to stretch the muscles and I teach you techniques to use at home in-between sessions.

After an initial evaluation, I develop a treatment plan based on availability, finances and home based participation. Most acute issues can be resolved in a few sessions, while chronic conditions take longer to undo. Most people end up coming in at least once a month to stay on top of any trouble spots.
I try to check in a day or two after a session to see how you are feeling. I am always available by text if you have any questions or concerns in between appointments. I usually respond within a couple of hours.

Wear comfortable clothing.
Depending on the type of massage you are getting, you may be clothed or unclothed. You may decide what amount of clothing you prefer to wear for your own comfort. You will be covered with a sheet or blanket throughout the session.

Take it easy. Drink lots of water.
Most people feel very relaxed after a massage. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity, which can last for days. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during a massage, it is recommended you drink plenty of water afterward.

In 1996, I began my formal training in Massage Therapy and Holistic Health Education at the National Holistic Institute. The 720-hour comprehensive curriculum covered the main styles of massage techniques, as well as anatomy and physiology as they relate to massage therapy.

Courses included Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Shiatsu/Acupressure, Chair Massage, Sports Massage, Prenatal Massage and Reflexology/Foot Massage, as well as stretching, stress reduction and meditation techniques with a view to educating clients about exercises they could use at home between massage visits.

In 2006, I completed a B.A in Biology at Sonoma State University, where I also studied Kinesiology, the study of physical movement.

I am a Reiki Master, and I continue to study CranioSacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute.
